Synopsis: Missed Connection: I saw you standing there, and I was struck by your eyes. Gorgeous, but not as gorgeous as your smile.
Thanks to her job at a crazy New Age spa, what should have been a sizzling NYC summer is being hijacked by demanding hippie bosses. To unwind, Sarah spends her nights cruising Missed Connections, dreaming of finding an uber-romantic entry all about her. Of course, the moment she finds that Missed Connection, real life comes crashing down around her in a night of unbridled passion with someone completely different: totally off-limits Jack.
Best. Hookup. Ever.
Gorgeous and wealthy, hot as sin, Jack can give Sarah everything she needs-except an emotional connection. That she gets from her Missed Connection, the romantic stranger who never fails to make her swoon. But there's only so much of Sarah to go around. Torn between the bad boy she can't keep and the sensitive stranger who bares his soul online, her heart and body are soon in two very different relationships...or are they?
I shake off the heaviness between us, determined to just let it be, and dance my way to the floor. I don’t know what to make of our conversation, but I feel cute, and have a nice buzz, and am out with my bestie and his sexy twin. A goofy smile twists my lips, and I look back at Jack as I shimmy my hips.
The expression on his face nearly stills my feet.
There’s hunger in his gaze.
I turn away and keep dancing, though less happily than before, more aware of every movement I make, knowing his eyes are on me. Breathless. Despite not wanting to take our relationship to the next level, I have to admit, I want his eyes on me. Seeing other women talk to him, look at him, annoys me more than it should. He’s not mine, but they don’t deserve him. So I make my movements a little sexier, and imagine what it would be like if I was going home with him tonight, hating the reasons that can never happen.
I’m so wrapped up in a fantasy of tumbling into Jack’s arms that it seems inevitable when his arms wrap around me from behind. He tugs me close to the curve of his body, and the heat of him is incredible—too incredible for the rational part of me to win. I smile and dance with him for a minute, allowing myself a moment of perfect snatched happiness.
“Girl, you’re making everyone on the dance floor jealous with those moves.” Pete’s voice in my ear shatters the fantasy, and my eyes open, gaze flying straight to Jack—who is still standing where I left him by the wall, unreadable expression on his face as he watches me dance with his twin.
I wish it had been you, Jack.
But it’s better for both of us that it wasn’t.

Oh, my!
This book was adorable! I couldn't put it down. I stayed up reading, yet again, until the sun was rising because I could not get enough of this story. I didn't want it to end. Though, I have a sneaking suspicion that another story might be coming along with a coupling that was hinted at toward the end.
Missed Connections stars Sarah, a recently unemployed and single woman with a long-time crush on her best friend's twin brother, Jack. Desperate for work, she takes a job at a hippie-run day spa and does her best to get her life back on track.
Jack, however, is a DJ and ladies' man. Our first few glimpses of Jack portray a carefree and flirty hunk who Sarah believes to be immature and emotionally unavailable. But as the story progresses, we learn that Jack is much more than he seems.
The fun begins when Sarah reveals her crush on Jack and is surprised to find that he reciprocates the lustful feelings. Sarah, however, thinks that a life with Jack would be doomed for failure, so she resigns herself to a physical relationship, only. Much to Jack's dismay.
On the other hand, Sarah has found herself drawn to a coworker, Blake, who seems to be everything that she is missing in her physical-only relationship with Jack. After finding a personal ad directed at her on Missed Connections, Sarah is convinced that the secret online admirer is Blake and she has no problem opening up to him, though they don't meet face to face.
After a while, Sarah's online love life and real-life relationship with Jack begin to weigh heavy on her. She has to choose between an emotionally satisfying connection with her online lover or her hot-and-heavy physically fulfilling tryst with Jack.
I laughed and smiled and blushed while reading this book. The chemistry between Sarah and Jack was believable and the love scenes were wild. I even found Blake to be likable. I enjoyed the humorous personal ads, too. Sarah's bosses and co-workers were annoying but entertaining, nonetheless. I did, at times, find Sarah's narrow view of Jack to be too strong for her otherwise gentle personality. She was harsher with him than anyone else in her life, even her nemesis.
In closing...
Quick and fun read! Four suns and I hope there will be more to come from Tamara Mataya and the Summer Love Series!
