Synopsis: One week in paradise with the one man I can’t resist…
Will Cassidy is hot, infuriating, and the guy behind the biggest heart-stomping humiliation of my life. He’s also hosting my BFF’s destination wedding at his super-luxe tropical resort, so short of a hurricane or outbreak of the plague (here’s hoping), I’m stuck within t̶o̶n̶g̶u̶e̶’s̶ arm's reach of him for the next seven days.
But I’m not a naive college girl anymore, and there’s no way I’m falling for his (many) charms again. I just have to ignore the romantic wedding shenanigans, his miraculous abs, all those intimate beach sunsets... And did I mention those abs?
Maybe a wild vacation fling is exactly what I need to even the score... But between the scorching chemistry and all-inclusive margaritas, I’m getting drunk on love. Which definitely isn’t part of the plan.
Can I keep my heart zipped - even if my bikini bottoms are lost somewhere on that nude beach? And how do you let go of the past when you’re holding on tight to the past’s (very ripped) torso?

A second chance love story set in paradise...
Ruby's on her way to a tropical resort to celebrate her best friend's upcoming wedding. It's a joyous event and she's even managed to take the entire week off work (sort of) to spend some much needed time in the sun. But just when she thinks her trip will be smooth sailing, she runs into a face from her past. One that left her with an ocean full of heartache. Worse, she'll be unable to avoid him as he's headed to the same resort for the very same wedding.
Will wasn't just Ruby's closest friend in college. He was her first real love and she'd imagined building her life with him, if he'd only known about her feelings. But one love note later and she was fleeing in tears as she left him behind. Now that they are face-to-face again and their chemistry is just as strong as ever, Ruby starts to wonder if she can look past her pain for a few days of pleasure.
Though the couple's attraction is powerful and their connection comes easily, a relationship of any kind cannot be built with past hurts hovering overhead. And even if they wanted to take their fling to another level, Ruby knows what she and Will live worlds apart. Could something deeper even be possible if she could look past her fears?
This book was a quick and fantastic read!
This happens to be my third book by Lila Monroe and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ruby was so real and authentic. Her character was super easy to connect with and her thoughts were entertaining and even gut-wrenching at times. She was dedicated to her job but didn't use it as an excuse to blow Will off. I like a woman who isn't afraid to play as hard as she works.
Will was a great male lead and a perfect match for Ruby. He was funny, romantic, and thoughtful. His entire character was written to make me swoon. And swoon, I did! From the very moment we met him, I was on edge waiting until Ruby would cross paths with him, again. The book was written in such a way that even without Will's direct POV, I was just as invested in his happy ending as for Ruby.
The romance was up and down, as I would expect with a couple who have a rough history with each other. There is a delicious tension that builds as Will and Ruby become reacquainted. And it nearly boils over before our pair can take the plunge. But it isn't all bedroom fun. Ruby and Will both have to come to grips with their feelings and fears along the way.
