SynopsisTreasure lost... passion found?

Antonia Korelli is on the run from her coven of priestesses. She never desired a life confined to the temple, relegated to chastity and service to the goddess, Azea. Instead, she longs for true love and adventure in the Kingdom of Elat.

Robin Watkins is a fiery dreamer on a mission of his own, to uncover the legendary lost Red Pearl. Only, he must first regain his treasure map, which was stolen by his former best mate and conniving ex-girlfriend.

When Antonia becomes unwittingly entangled with Rob, she's more than dismayed to find herself stuck on his harebrained hunt. But somewhere amidst their bickering and banter, their plight for survival through desert and tropics, and the joint pursuit of impossible dreams, Antonia begins to realize that perhaps she might have found the unforgettable adventure – and romance – she was seeking.

Antonia has spent her entire life being told who she will become. But no longer. She has finally decided to leave her pre-destined life behind to seek the knight of her dreams and the happiness she deserves. There is just one problem. The man she becomes entangled with is far from being a knight in shining armor.

Robin is on a hunt. Sure, he hit a snag when he discovered a deep betrayal and lost his treasure map. And perhaps being saddled with a sheltered woman who questions his quest at every turn is not the best way to go about finding the Red Pearl. His growing attraction to her just might be a problem, as well.

Together, Annie and Rob must retrieve the map, find a way to translate it, and trek across foreign lands in order to locate the pearl. Scheming nemeses cause problems along the way and our couple have to survive the wilderness if they ever plan to complete their journey.

This book was a fun adventure from the first page. I have yet to find a C.K. Brooke book that I don't love. Her storytelling is fast-paced and characters are perfectly flawed and believable. The slow-burning romance was adorable with a dash of spice. I flew through this book and it will definitely go on my re-read list!

In closing...
A fun adventure with romance, horseless carriages, and treasure maps! Five suns!
